PRENATAL / PREGNANCY ABHYANGA (MASSAGE)
An ayurvedic pregnancy massage is an excellent practice to incorporate into your pregnancy journey to deepen a feeling of rest, relaxed muscles and joints, calmer mind and energy and a feeling of being nurtured as you nurture the baby within you.
The hormonal fluctuations that arise in the pregnancy journey manifest in insomnia, stress, and muscular tensions. The pregnancy abhyanga will help to relieve pain and discomfort, improve the mood, bringing inner peace and a feeling of stability while forming a bond with the baby.
The massage technique and intensity is customised to suit the individual mama’s health conditions, body type, specific needs on the day.
Using superior oil blends, Ayurvedic massage involves the application of a range of strokes at varying pressure levels. For example, the therapist may apply a firmer pressure on the head, neck, shoulder, knees but gentle strokes on your belly, feet and the rest of the body. Massage strokes and herbal oil blends are tailored according to the health issues and prenatal term of the pregnant mama. The body's positioning during massage will depend on her comfort level, which changes from person to person and also with each trimester.
Ananda Wellness is introducing a prenatal massage experience specifically tailored to the body's needs that changes throughout the trimester.
Our pregnancy massage therapist, Rachel is now offering these sessions, designed to help you align with your physical, emotional, and mental well-being in line with the principles of Ayurveda and the Ayurvedic abhyanga (massage).
